The pdf copies here are of our ideal about restructuting cities. You can see that our concept is radically different that the Saudi’s linear concept. We wanted a design where people had there own space and where the service elements necessary for a cities are within reach. Some of the designs here are structured around people having access to their home by driving to their gate but some have the access by stairs and elevators alone. And we wanted the design to be as flexible as possible. Only the support structures , the pillars and floors and the access ramps can not be moved. To some degree stairways and elevators could be relocated inside the overall structure. This flexibility is important as communities change and our design needs as much as possible to respond to the different cultural expectations and future changes in demographics and the environment. These design concepts are based largely on my experience in western and specifically United States communities. This is way we are asking for input on our concepts and a dialogue on how to develop designs to fit the many diverse areas of the world. In addition to the design layout we need for the dialogue to consider the finincial aspects of the designs.
Again these designs are placed here to start the very needed dialoge on how to house communities. Housing communities is becoming a very curcial need and we need to come up with designs that are flexible in layout and finanical concerns and able to be constructed in very different regions.
